This website, juliawhitlock.com, belongs to author Julia Whitlock. This page explains what information the site collects, why, and what you can do about it.
What I collect
Newsletter sign-ups. If you join Letters from Julia, I collect your email address, and your name if you provide it.
Contact form messages. If you write to me through the Contact page, I receive your name, your email address and your message.
Basic site data. Like most websites, this site uses cookies and collects general usage information, such as pages visited and browser type, to keep the site working and to understand how it’s used.
How I use it
To send the newsletter you signed up for: news of new books and the history behind them.
To reply to your messages.
To keep the site running smoothly.
I never sell, rent or trade your information.
Who else handles it
This site is hosted on Squarespace, which also delivers the newsletter and stores form submissions. Email is handled through Google Workspace. Both process information on my behalf under their own privacy and security policies.
Your choices
Every newsletter includes an unsubscribe link, and you can leave at any time.
You can ask me to see, correct or delete the information I hold about you by emailing julia@juliawhitlock.com.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though some parts of the site may not work as well.
Children
This site is not directed to children under 13, and I don’t knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If this policy changes, I’ll update the date at the top of this page.
